NOTEWORTHY: Sydnee Fortner, Maddie Kelough and McKinley Feazle each went 3-for-4 from the plate, and pitcher Kali Dennis allowed only two hits as the Byng Lady Pirates (No. 11 in Class 5A) clubbed Coalgate 9-0 on Tuesday. Fortner drove in three runs and scored twice. Kelough knocked in two runs and scored once, and Feazle picked up one RBI and scored once. Britney Brooks-Teel was 1-for-2 with one RBI and a walk for Byng, which compiled 13 hits. Katyn Denson (1-for-2 with a double) and Caitlyn Sandlin (1-for-3) had the only hits for Coalgate. Shea Linton suffered the pitching loss. Byng has now won six straight games.

NOTEWORTHY: A walk-off RBI single by Payton Owens in the bottom of the eighth inning scored Kaylea Ensey and lifted the Class 2A No. 6 Roff Lady Tigers to a 6-5 decision over Class 3A No. 5 Strother on Tuesday. Owens sparked Roff’s 12-hit attack by going 3-for-5 with the game-winning RBI, one double and a run scored. Teammates Elissa Bettes, Paige Mayfield and Ensey were each 2-for-4. Bettes drove home a pair of runs. Mayfield had one RBI and a run scored, and Ensey also scored a run. Kailyn Gore and Camden Simon were each 1-for-3, as Gore doubled and walked once. Simon surrendered 10 hits and three walks while striking out two.

NOTEWORTHY: Hailey Baber cranked out two home runs while Taryn Batterton and Jaylee Willis had one apiece Tuesday, but the Class 2A 13th-ranked Latta Lady Panthers were on the short end of a 17-15 score with No. 2 Silo. Willis finished 3-for-5 from the plate with the homer, a double and three runs batted in. Baber, with her two blasts, drove in five runs, scored three times and drew a pair of walks. Triniti Cotanny, Batterton, Brook Gragg and Kaylee Gragg were each 2-for-4. With the homer, Batterton knocked in three runs while Cotanny brought in two, as Latta ended up with 16 hits. Shaylin Midgley blasted two home runs and finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in Silo’s 19-hit attack. Joe Airington also homered for the Lady Rebels. Nay Nay Turner went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and three runs scored for the visitors.

NOTEWORTHY: The Sulphur Lady Bulldogs (No. 3 in Class 5A) received four homers – one each from Shallen Mershon, Ally Dixon, Hailey Keith and Kaden Morris – and powered past the Konawa Lady Tigers 12-4 on Tuesday. Mershon was 3-for-3 with the homer, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored to fuel the Sulphur offense. Teammates Hailey Keith and Abby Beck were each 2-for-3. Keith, with the homer, drove in two runs and scored once. Beck scored one run. Morris, with the homer, drove home four runs in the game. Kinlee Duck went 1-for-2 with a double and knocked in two runs. Blakelyn Barber was 1-for-2 with one RBI, and Dixon finished 1-for-3 and knocked in a run. Winning pitcher Briley Minor allowed only four hits and two earned runs. Kayla Hill and Jaida Brooks had two hits each for Konawa. Ashley Fry belted a home run for the Lady Tigers, while Kenley Matthews and Julie Coats both cracked doubles.

For Tupelo, Shalyn McCollum finished 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and one RBI, and Kasey Maldonado was also 2-for-2. Kaylea Palmer ended up 1-for-2. Karyn Maldonado took the pitching loss as Bennington totaled six hits.

NOTEWORTHY: Karyn Maldonado drove home two runs, scored once, walked in a 1-for-2 effort and also pitched a four-hitter, and the Tupelo Lady Tigers knocked off Coleman 7-3 on Tuesday. Cheyane Price also drove in a pair of runs while going 1-for-3. Reese Grigg (1-for-2) and Kaylea Palmer (1-for-3) picked up one RBI apiece as Tupelo compiled eight hits.

NOTEWORTHY: Kinsey Nix finished 3-for-3 from the plate with two doubles, three runs batted in and two runs scored Tuesday as the Allen Lady Mustangs downed Vanoss 11-1 in 4 ½ innings. Allen totaled 12 hits, compared to eight for the Lady Wolves. Kaylyn Rowsey went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. Sunzie Harrison, Riley Koonce and Taylen Mason each ended up 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Harrison hit a triple and scored three times. Koonce had a double and scored once. Taylor Tollett allowed eight hits and only one walk while recording four strikeouts on the mound for Allen.

NOTEWORTHY: The Allen Lady Mustangs pounded out 17 hits and scored four runs in the top of the eighth to edge Holdenville 12-8 Monday. Kinsey Nix went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and four runs scored for Allen, while Taylen Mason, Riley Koonce and Savanna Yetter were each 3-for-5. Mason drove in four runs. Koonce doubled one time, knocked in two runs and scored twice, and Yetter also picked up two RBIs. Teammate Maddy Clifford ended up 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the winners.

NOTEWORTHY: Jace Hayes and Braden McGehee combined for a three-hitter Tuesday as Class 3A No. 5 Kingston knocked off the Class 2A fifth-ranked Latta Panthers 5-1. Hayes allowed just two hits and five walks while striking out three through the first 4.2 innings. McGehee and teammate Rylee Holmes were each 3-for-3. McGehee doubled once, knocked in two runs and drew a walk, while Holmes scored once and walked one time. DJ Van Atten (1-for-2 with a double and one RBI), Jeron Johnston (1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk) and Braden Schroeder (1-for-3) had the only hits for Latta. Kingston totaled 12 hits and three walks off starting pitcher Randis Gray, who also recorded three strikeouts. With runners at first and second, reliever Chance Perry recorded the final KHS out in the bottom of the sixth.
