NOTEWORTHY: Michael Moralez drilled four 3-point shots and collected a game-high 18 points as the host Tupelo Tigers knocked off the Calvin Bulldogs, 53-44, on Tuesday night. Joining Moralez was Ty Bourland with 11 points as he knocked down three treys. Teammate Seth Foreman followed with nine points. Austin Vick pulled down five rebounds to go with his six points. Charlie Harden paced Calvin with 11 points as he had one 3-point basket. Levi Folsom was next with 10 points and Carson Hart contributed eight, including a pair of treys.

NOTEWORTHY: Jarrett Ellis popped in 18 points and Clayton Findley added 11 but it wasn’t enough Tuesday night as the Stonewall Longhorns dropped a 71-51 decision to Earlsboro in opening the 2018-19 season. Earlsboro san nine 3-pointers in the game while Stonewall had five from five different players. The Wildcats opened a 24-13 lead after the first quarter, led 42-24 at halftime and had a 63-38 cushion through three quarters.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We played extremely hard, but didn’t take care of the basketball. We have to cut down on our turnovers,” said Stonewall head coach Wes Moreland.

NOTEWORTHY: Charlie Harden fired in a game-high 24 points to spark the Calvin Bulldogs to a 66-40 win over Mill Creek on Monday. Calvin had a 34-24 halftime lead and blew the game wide open with a 26-5 third quarter. Adryn Ingle contributed nine points to the Calvin attack while Levi Folsom and Carson Hart finished with eight apiece.

NOTEWORTHY: Host Varnum placed four players in double figures, led by Mikayla Wildcat’s 16 and four treys, in rolling to a 74-30 rout of the Roff Lady Tigers on Tuesday. Alyssa Sanchez was the only Roff player to reach double figures with 10, including two 3-point buckets. Madyson Kinsey and Nakai Harjo followed with 14 points each for Varnum and Brooklyn Biffle contributed 12.

COACH’S QUOTE: “The first four minutes of the game we played good defense and played real hard. But if you don’t rebound and block out the game can get away from you fast. We’ve got to figure out how to be good all the time,” said Roff head coach Trent Storts.

NOTEWORTHY: The Calvin Lady Bulldogs knocked down 13 3-point shots as four of their players scored in double figures in routing Mill Creek, 88-38, on Monday. Hannah Harris poured in 25 points while Kelcie Howell and Shantel Potter added 20 apiece. Brooke Miller was next with 16. Howell, Potter and Miller each sank four treys. Calvin raced out to a 21-6 advantage after one quarter and cruised to a 38-7 halftime lead. A 28-11 third quarter inflated the Lady Bulldog cushion to 66-18.
