NOTEWORTHY: Tanner Tanyan poured in 18 points, including two treys, and dished out four assists while teammate Dyami Kilpatrick tallied 17 points, grabbed seven boards and handed out two assists as the Konawa Tigers rallied to beat visiting Holdenville, 54-43, Monday night. Konawa trailed by 15 at one point in the first half. The Tigers were down 17-5 after one quarter, but they sliced the deficit to 23-20 at the half with a 15-6 second quarter. Konawa then outscored the Wolverines, 34-20, in the second half after a 17-11 third quarter and a 17-9 fourth. Colton Campbell added seven points and a pair of steals to the Tiger attack. Tim Morris followed with six points and two steals, and Seth Tanyan chipped in four points and blocked three shots. Holdenville got a team-best 15 points from Preston Sam, including a trio of 3-point baskets. D’Angelo Gibson and Wecate Lowe added 10 points each for the Wolverines.

COACH’S QUOTE: “In the second half, we played a little better defense. Turnovers were an issue, but we stepped up down the stretch and made plays when we needed to,” — Konawa head coach Gordon Garner.

NOTEWORTHY: Landon Wood scored a game-high 28 points, including five 3-point baskets, to help Stratford torch Ft. Towson 91-47 at home Friday night. Stratford raced to a 23-4 first quarter lead and extended it to 47-18 by halftime. Noah Johnson scored 13 points for the Bulldogs, while Russell Caton just missed double figures with nine.
