NOTEWORTHY: Darian Davis fired a two-hit shutout, struck out 13 and walked only one Monday as the Byng Pirates cruised to a 10-0 rout of the host McLoud Redskins in six innings. Davis also helped his own cause by going 1-for-3 from the plate with an RBI double in the sixth inning. Billy Wall (1-for-2) and Rayce Stephens (1-for-3) each drove in one run, as Wall doubled and scored a run. Teammate Trenton Shaw was also 1-for-3 with a two-run single in the sixth. Levi Prater also laced a two-run double in the fourth as Byng totaled six hits. The Pirates were also helped by five McLoud errors.

Team Record: Byng 15-2.

NOTEWORTHY: Silo (No. 2 in Class 2A) rallied with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Monday to defeat the visiting Latta Panthers (No. 3 in 2A) 6-4. Five of the seven Latta hits came from two players, as Kyle Rogers went 3-for-3 with one RBI, one run scored and a walk. Teammate Randis Gray was 2-for-3 with a run batted in. Kyle Reed finished 1-for-3, scored a run and drew a walk, and Dustin West doubled and knocked in a run. Silo compiled eight hits. Jacob Savage took the pitching loss after surrendering the six earned runs off eight hits with seven strikeouts and four walks in working six complete innings. Parker Holland led Silo at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. The Rebels are riding a 11-game winning streak.

NOTEWORTHY: Colton Scott limited the Roff Tigers (No. 4 in Class B) to four hits, walked three and struck out three in a 2-1 Moss decision on Monday. The lone Roff run was unearned. Conner Baldridge suffered the hard-luck loss, as he gave up two hits and four walks while striking out six. Cooper Simon went 1-for-2 from the plate for the Tigers, while Dayne Bowerman and Aiden Bagwell were each 1-for-3. Tyler Fitzgerald went 1-for-2 with a walk for Moss (No. 6 in Class B).

NOTEWORTHY: Coleman (No. 13 in Class B) pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of five Tupelo errors in downing the Tigers 18-12 on Monday. The loss overshadowed a 4-for-5 performance by Brady Benedict that included a homer, a double, three runs batted in and three runs scored. Avery Gould went 2-for-3 with a homer, a double, one run scored a pair of walks, and teammate Seth Foreman and was 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Braydon Pardue (1-for-2) and Blaine Ake (1-for-3) each knocked in two runs for Tupelo, which finished with 13 for the game. Starting pitcher Chace Krebs suffered the loss as the Tigers used three other pitchers in the contest. Tyler Adams paced Coleman’s offense, finishing 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Colbey Stephens went 3-for-5 with a double and four runs scored, while Canyon Whittington blasted a home run for the Wildcats, who scored 11 unearned runs.

NOTEWORTHY: Chloe Jesse went 3-for-4 from the plate with two RBIs and a run scored, while Alyssa Kuestersteffen tripled once, drove in four runs, scored twice and drew a walk in a 2-for-3 effort to lead Konawa past local rival Latta 11-4 in the opener of the Konawa Festival Monday night. Konawa pounded out 18 hits, as five other Lady Tigers collected two hits each. Taylor Jackson (2-for-4) and Ashley Fry (2-for-5) drove home two runs each. Jaelyn Flanary (2-for-2 with a pair of walks), Crissy Sharp (2-for-3 with two runs scored) and Sadie Larney (2-for-4 with a double and walk) also had multiple hits for the Lady Tigers. Chelsea Alexander finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and scored twice for Latta (No. 3 in Class 4A). Matison Worcester also went 2-for-3 in a losing effort. Abi LaValley (1-for-3) also knocked in a run for the Lady Panthers, who finished with eight hits. Sharp got the pitching win, and Amanda Jordan suffered the loss.

NOTEWORTH: The Prague Lady Red Devils compiled 16 hits in registering a 13-3 rout of the Latta Lady Panthers in five innings on Monday. Chelsea Alexander, who finished 2-for-3 from the plate and scored twice, and Maria Priest, who was 1-for-2 with one RBI and a run scored, each drove home one run for Latta in a losing effort. Taylor Bates went 2-for-2 and Naveah Smith was 1-for-2 as the Lady Panthers ended up with six hits. Amanda Jordan took the pitching loss.

NOTEWORTHY: Alyssa Kuestersteffen went 3-for-3 from the plate and knocked in a run, while Shelby Gentry finished 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored Monday, but it wasn’t enough as the Prague Lady Red Devils (No. 4 in Class 5A) thumped the Konawa Lady Tigers, 15-7. Crissy Sharp and Kenley Matthews each finished 2-for-3 with one RBI for Konawa, which totaled 13 hits. One of the hits for Matthews was a double.

Triston Johnson and Janee Hughes each went 2-for-3 from the plate, as Johnson scored the lone Byng run. Kali Dennis and Krosby Clinton each went 1-for-2 to round out the Lady Pirates’ six-hit outing. Lydia Birkes finished 4-for-4 from the plate with a double for Davis, while three others – Lynsey Martin, Jaz Thomas and Riley Webber – were each 2-for-3. Martin knocked in a run, and Thomas scored once. Dennis suffered the pitching loss, and Birkes snatched the win.

Triston Johnson went 2-for-3 from the plate with three RBIs and a run scored as Krosby Clinton, Kali Dennis, Mychal Barnett and Sydnee Fortner each finished 2-for-4. Clinton, who doubled once, and Dennis each knocked in one run as Clinton scored twice and Dennis once. Mychal Barnett scored a pair of runs, and Fortner crossed the plate once. RayAnn Wheat and Alexis Barnett were each 1-for-3 and picked up one RBI. Dennis scattered nine hits and walked three in nabbing the pitching win.
