NOTEWORTHY: Senior Katie Campbell rebounded from a sore arm to return to shortstop for Class B No. 3 Tupelo, and she had three hits, including a triple and drove in three runs to pace a season-high 16-hit attack for the Lady Tigers in the run-rule victory. Tupelo scored in every inning, with freshman leadoff hitter Shanna Davidson also going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three stolen bases, and Kylie Curry, Ari Rice and Lindsey Davidson also had big games for the Lady Tigers. Tyla Transue had two of the four hits off Shanna Davidson, who went the distance on the mound for her seventh win in 10 decisions.

NOTEWORTHY: Autumn Lawrence scattered seven hits and went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Latta — No. 5 in Class 2A — to a sharp win over Class A No. 1 Sterling to advance in the winner’s bracket, but Saturday’s tournament games were rained out. The Lady Panthers wiped out an early 1-0 deficit with two runs in the second inning on RBI singles by Sara Miller and Lashun Oakley, and Latta added an insurance run in the fifth.

Sophomore Christina Gladden’s three-run double highlighted a four-run second inning that gave Kuestersteffen all the run support she needed, and freshman Melanie Gladden also had an RBI for Konawa.
