Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my concern for the Call-A-Ride service in Ada.

The city and county officials are working together to save this important service to the elderly, to residents who have special needs and to residents who do not drive. This service of public transportation is a lifesaver to many citizens. It should be a priority for all of us to try to save this service.

What would this service mean to any of us as citizens of Pontotoc County if we did not drive, and did not have a family member to take us to the doctor’s office or to the grocery store?

We should all encourage our city council members and county commissioners to keep working on a solution that will save this very important service to so many citizens of Ada and Pontotoc County.

I appreciate especially the dedication and perseverance of Billie Jean Floyd to this committee.

Thank you,

Katherine S. Howry, Ada.
