Dear Editor,

Watching “The Innocent Man” on Netflix has continued to push me to seek answers in my brother Daniel Furr’s murder back in 1995.

Something so simple as DNA testing helped release two innocent men from prison. However, something so simple as DNA testing seems so hard for the OSBI lab to do in these older cases. I’ve been back and forth with the OSBI lab for over 2 years now listening to one excuse after another on why the evidence has not been tested yet in my brother’s case.

Our family has even offered to pay for the tests to be done.

How long should a family have to suffer and wait for answers on a cold case when we feel all we need is for the evidence to be tested in order to move forward?
