Dear Editor,

My husband and I have subscribed to this publication for over 25 years. While we have always enjoyed reading it as a way to know what’s going on in our community, we feel compelled to give you our feedback on the section titled “Today in History.”

While this section could be a very positive reminder of what’s good in our area, it has served as a grim re-hashing of some of the darker parts of Ada’s recent history. Rather than reminding us of happier events, this section has continued to focus on stories of past murders, drug busts, assaults and other less-than-positive happenings in our community. In addition, reminding the public of these stories surely causes great pain to those who were involved and are desperately trying to heal and move on with their lives.

If you choose to have a “Today in History” section, we ask that you instead focus on the many positive happenings in our wonderful community.

Thanks so much for your consideration.

Jennifer Cunningham, Ada
