TISHOMINGO — Two Tishomingo teens were involved in a single vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon, reportedly due to the driver’s carelessness on a wet roadway.

According to a report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Chantle Dickerson, 16, and John Reinhart, 17, both from Tishomingo, were flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where they were admitted in critical condition.

According to the report, Dickerson was at the wheel of a 2001 Chevrolet eastbound on State Highway 78 when she started playing on the roadway, swerving from side to side. Dickerson lost control of the vehicle shortly after and it struck an embankment before rolling one time and coming to a rest on its wheels.

Reinhart was pinned for approximately 20 minutes before being freed by the Tishomingo Fire Department using the Hurst Tool.

Cause of collision was listed as an unsafe speed for roadway, as the roads were wet.

Neither passenger was wearing a safety belt.
