ADA — When Gayla Jean Anson heard a gun go off in her kitchen she had to rush her husband Casey Harold Anson, 40, to the emergency room at Valley View Hospital.

Casey had been trying to put a lazer sight on his Springfield XC 9mm pistol when the gun accidentally discharged Wednesday.

Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Deputies Brian Engel and Casey Gentry reported the gun magazine had been loaded with Luger hollowpoint ammunition but there was no sign of foul play when they investigated the scene in the kitchen.
