The Ladies Auxiliary of the Salvation Army met Friday, May 14, for their regular monthly meeting.  The May meeting was held at Oak Hills Country Club.  Special guest was Maj. Teri Green of Division Headquarters.

Following the blessing given by Rose Faerman and a welcome by president Doreen McAlister, lunch was enjoyed by all attending.

A devotional was given by chaplain Roberta Summers on Faith, Hope and Love.  All three are necessary ingredients for a successful life and are traits the Auxiliary members should strive to demonstrate.

Minutes and treasurer report were both approved as presented.

Upcoming events were discussed.  In July the Advisory Board will host its annual fundraiser.  Back to School Basics and Shoe Vouchers will also be distributed in July and volunteers will be needed to work at that event.

The Ada Chapter will be sending 20 children to Camp Heart’0’Hills this summer.  The Thrift Store was briefly discussed; it was noted that mattresses will be added to the inventory of the store which is located in the Broadway Plaza.

Officers were installed for the upcoming year.  Serving will be Judy Cantrell as president; vice president Dex Carpenter; secretary Cindy Davis; treasurer Debbra Smith; chaplain Roberta Summers; historian Leigh Gaddis; and parliamentarian Doreen McAlester.  Each out-going officer was presented with a gift of appreciation.

Members attending were Rose Faerman, Roberta Summers, Leigh Gaddis, Doreen McAlister, Doris Blackburn, Jane Muntz, Judy Cantrell, Shirley Pogue, Debbra Smith, Cindy Davis, Martha Freeman, Catharine Choate, Lou Ann Hoover and Liz McMullan.  Also attending were special guest Teri Green and Major Craig Greenham.

The next meeting of the Auxiliary will be held Sept. 10.
