ADA — The Ponotoc Animal Welfare Society’s annual dog show will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Pontotoc County Agri-plex indoor arena (big red barn). This event is in conjunction with the Pontotoc County Free Fair.

Anyone wishing to participate in the event may pre-register at PAWS Animal Shelter, 1200 Sandy Creek Dr., or at the fairgrounds office. Registration will also be from 5-6 p.m. at the agri-plex before the show. The show begins at 6 p.m.

Categories include most appropriately named, best trick, best behaved, dog-owner look-alike, and best dressed. Winners from each category will compete for best of show. All dogs must be on a leash and have proof of current vaccination. The event is free and open to the public.

There will be drawings for door prizes throughout the show.

There is no entry fee. However, anyone who wishes may take a dog or cat item or treat to donate to the shelter.
