Fire destroyed a residence in the 16600 block of County Road 3670 Tuesday.

The home was completely consumed by the fire, which was initially reported by a passing Lula firefighter. Fire departments from Ada, Stonewall and Lula responded to the blaze, as did Pontotoc County Emergency Management.

No one was home at the time of the fire. Firefighters were on the scene from about 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

According to Pontotoc County Emergency Management Director Chad Letellier, eight people lived in the home, which was reportedly not insured.

The home was approximately 14 miles east of Ada. Smoke was visible from Ada’s east side.
