Carolyn Cooper celebrated her 35th anniversary Oct. 2 as office manager with Ada Internal Medicine. Cooper, Dr. Joe Troska and Susie Welch, an LPN, started a medical practice in a small office on 12th Street in Ada in 1972. While the practice grew to 16 employees at one point during the past three decades, Cooper, Dr. Jerry Morgan and a nurse are the last remaining.

Cooper said she has stayed at her desk all these years because she “enjoys dealing with people” and her “co-workers have been like extended family.”

Cooper accomplished her duties in bookkeeping, appointments and patient information the old-fashioned way until 1995 when computers were installed.

Cooper and her husband, Tommy Cooper, live in Ada. They have three children: Kelly, Kevin and Amy and six grandchildren. They are expecting their first great-grandchild in December.
