ADA — CLEET Training Division Manager Chris Sutterfield, president of ALERT International, will head the 2006 annual conference in Los Angeles Oct. 9-12. ALERT International, the Association of Law Enforcement Response Trainers, is dedicated to the encouragement and correlation of research and development as well as sharing of information, ideas and innovations in the area of emergency vehicle response operation. The Los Angeles Police Department is the host agency for the conference.

Sutterfield has also been chosen to serve on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration committee developing the “National Law Enforcement Driver Training Enforcement Guide.” He will be attending training in November that will review and make recommendations for “Pullover Laws,” designed to recommend legislation to states for laws governing requirements to be followed by citizens when being pulled over by law enforcement officers.

The Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training recognized Sutterfield’s involvement with the ALERT and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration programs by supporting his involvement. “We are proud of Chris and his accomplishments in the area of officer and citizen safety in traffic stop research,” stated CLEET Director Jeanie Nelson.
