Ada firefighter Sam Smith is offering Christmas carriage and wagon rides around Wintersmith Park.

Smith said he wanted to do something that brought people to Ada for the holidays.

“We’ve been doing this for a while for churches and other groups,” he said.  “We thought it might bring people into Ada.”

His business, 2-S Cowboy Express, offers carriage rides for $35 for up to six people and wagon rides for $6 per person.

“We’re just east of the deer pens on East 21st,” Smith said.

He said it takes about 30 minutes to make it around the park.

“We start about 5:00 or 5:30 p.m. and go until usually around 9:30 p.m.” he said.

Smith said he and his other drivers will be carting people around Wednesdays through Sundays until Dec. 30.  He said the rides won’t be open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

“We’ve got group rates for churches and businesses who want to buy tickets for their employees,” Smith said.

He said the rides are also available on days other than Wednesday through Sunday by reservation.

“(Customers) can get tickets at Sharpe’s or The Mix,” Smith said.  Tickets are also available at the carriage and wagon starting point near the park.
