Cancer survivor dinner slated

Pontotoc County Relay for Life will hold its third annual Survivor Dinner  May 5 at Pontotoc County Agri-plex.

“The past years have been a huge success with more than 300 survivors in attendance and we anticipate this year to be even better,” said Holly Wheeler, Survivor Dinner chair.

Wheeler said over 500 invitations have been sent in the mail to cancer survivors.  Survivors may register up to the night of the dinner.  Survivors may also register for Relay For Life at the dinner at tables set up for that purpose.

The Gastineaus, a family band from Ada, will provide entertainment at the event.

Wheeler said this year’s survivor dinner is sponsored by TriCity Family Clinic, PHYSTAR, Stanta Fe Cattle Company, Criswell Funeral Home, Gem Jewelers and Coca Cola Bottling Company.

“This event would not be possible without the generous donations from our sponsors,” she said.

She said Crosspointe Church volunteers and Relay For Life committee members will serve as wait staff for the meal.

“They all have a servant’s heart and it shows in their dedication to the event,” Wheeler said.  “We are so very fortunate to have such a great group of volunteers.”
