ADA—Ada police arrested three people who were allegedly burglarizing a residence shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.

Timothy Ozment, 30, Maryann Berry, 19, and Austin McCarty, 22, all from Ada, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary. According to a report from the Ada Police Department, Officers responded to a call of a possible burglary in the 2100 block of E. Foster.

While searching around the house, police saw three people walking around the corner of the residence.

Police ordered the suspects to show their hands and get on the ground. Both Berry and McCarty were wearing latex gloves, according to the report.

Berry told police the home was her father’s and she was just removing some stuff. Police searched McCarty and found 6 knives, gift cards and a flashlight.

During a search of Ozment, police found 2 knives, $2 bills, three rings, two necklaces and three pairs of earrings, the report said. Berry reportedly told police she had entered the home through a window and let Ozment and McCarty in through the door.

When the homeowner arrived, police entered with her and discovered a gun cabinet had been broken into and items moved around the residence.

The homeowner identified the items found on the suspects as her and her husband’s. Ozment, Berry and McCarty were taken to the city jail.
