KONAWA — Long-time BancFirst employee and Konawa resident Mary Jo Rains has recently been named to the Community Board for BancFirst Konawa. The announcement was made by Roger Nansel, president of BancFirst Konawa.

Rains had worked in banking for 45 years before retiring in 2002. She last held the position of senior vice president and branch manager of BancFirst Konawa. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and has an Oklahoma State Banking Certificate. Rains also has certificates in banking from the Bank Administration Institution and American Institute of Banking and in Banking Operations from East Texas State University.

“BancFirst is committed to the Konawa community and I look forward to serving with them as a board member,” Rains said. “I’m pleased to be a part of a BancFirst family that is so dedicated to Oklahoma and its future.”

Rains currently works as the secretary for the Seminole County Election Board and is a member of the Konawa Chamber of Commerce and Wewoka Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center Board and is active with the Oklahoma State University Foundation, St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation, Sequoia Hospital Foundation, Salvation Army, March of Dimes and First Baptist Church, Konawa. Rains lives in Konawa with husband, Billy, and poodle, Anny.
