An Ada man died Thursday when his car collided with a pickup truck on state Highway 3E, just west of Stonewall.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol records indicate Baeley H.W. Fox, 22, of Ada, was traveling westbound on state Highway 3E around 5:52 p.m. Thursday when the 2016 Dodge Dart he was driving went left of the center line and struck the driver’s side of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dennis L. Howard, 55, of Caney.

Records indicate Fox was ejected approximately 7 feet from the vehicle upon impact. Troopers report Fox died at the scene of massive injuries sustained in the collision.

Howard was transported by Mercy EMS to Mercy Hospital Ada, where he was treated and released with arm and trunk external injuries. Howard’s truck was pulling a horse trailer at the time of the collision. No information was reported regarding whether the trailer was occupied.

Records indicate the condition of both drivers at the time of the collision remains under investigation. According to OHP reports, both vehicles were equipped with seatbelts, which were not in use by either driver. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.
