Ada Main Street monitoring weather before making parade decision

Ada —

The fate of this year’s Pat Taylor Memorial Parade of Lights is still up in the air.

The parade was originally scheduled for Thursday evening, but it was canceled due to the threat of severe weather and dangerous driving conditions. Main Street officials have not yet decided whether to reschedule the parade.

“So that we can get a more accurate picture of how the current ice and snow will wear, and to see if anything else comes in over the weekend, we will be assessing the situation on Monday,” program manager Amy Kaiser said in an email to The Ada News. “We know that the parade is an important event and will be trying our best to find a new date, but the safety of all involved is the most important factor.”

She said Main Street officials will announce their decision as soon as possible.
