Mason Girdley donned the helmet and shoulder pads for the last time Friday night when he played in the All-State football game at Union-Tuttle Stadium.
Girdley, headed to play baseball at Carl Albert State College in Poteau, was a running back and special teams player as late addition to the East team. Girdley, who rushed for 1,517 yards and 20 touchdowns during Ada High’s 12-1 run to the Class 4A semifinals, finished with just two carries for three yards in Friday’s All-State game.
“It was a fun experience getting to come out here and play with these caliber of athletes,” Girdley said. “It was just good to be out here. It was a lot of fun.”
