ADA — Kayli Texanna Edwards, Ada, and Grant Morris Diamond, Clifton, Va., were united in marriage on July 24, 2010, in the wedding garden of the Dominion House, Guthrie, Okla. The Rev. Tom Pounder of Clifton, officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony. The ceremony was delayed half an hour due to an unexpected rain shower, but the outdoor ceremony was able to proceed as planned.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Benny and Rita Edwards, Ada. Grandparents are Benny Edwards Sr. and Sammy Edwards, Ada, Lanora Roberson, Ada, and the late Tex Roberson, Roff.
Parents of the bridegroom are Greg and Patty Jo Diamond, Clifton. Grandparents are Pat Diamond, Glenolder, Pa., and the late Jim Diamond.
Dr. Benny Edwards, the bride’s father, presented her in marriage, while Mariko Taylor, San Antonio, Texas, and Maggie Johnson, Modesto, Calif., former college roommates of the bride, attended her as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Edwards, Moore, sister-in-law of the bride, Haley Diamond, Clifton, sister of the bridegroom, Camille Barnett, Edina, Minn., former college roommate of the bride, Jill Casserly, Newport Beach, Calif., former Wheaton College tennis teammate of the bride, and Whitney Spears, Norman, former Ada High School tennis doubles partner of the bride.
Best men were Drake Diamond and Lance Diamond, Clifton, brothers of the bridegroom, and groomsmen were Trey Edwards, Moore, Clayton Edwards, Ada, brothers of the bride. Other groomsmen were Bryan Neihart, Kansas City, Caleb King, Cresskill, N.J., and Solomon Tong, Pittsburgh, Pa., college friends of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Tommy Bond and Ryan Bond, Ada, cousins of the bride, and Brandon Bocianski, Wheaton, Ill., former college roommate of the bridegroom.
Guestbook attendants were Britni Trimble and Brooklyn Bond, Ada, cousins of the bride. The bride’s personal assistants were high school friends, Erin DiGiulio and Leah Barbata, Norman.
Nuptial music was provided by vocalist Craig Williams who performed “In Christ Alone” written by Keith and Kristyn Getty and Leah Barbata who performed “Stand by You” made famous by John Legend. Scriptures regarding the sanctity of marriage, Mark 10:6-9 and Ephesians 5:21-33, were read from the Bible by Dee Bond, aunt of the bride, and Brooklyn Bond, cousin of the bride.
A reception with dinner and dancing was held in the Dominion House Grand Ballroom following the garden ceremony. The wedding colors were aqua blue and brown and the bride wore a satin strapless gown.
The couple is at home in Geneva, Ill., a suburb of Chicago, after a wedding trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
