Mitchell, Leinen exchange vows in beach ceremony

Ada —

Exchanging wedding vows on May 8, 2010, were Kristen Mitchell and Quinn Leinen, both of Dallas.  The 4 p.m. ceremony took place on the sandy beach at Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Lisa Mitchell, Ada.  She is the granddaughter of Monroe Mitchell, Lexington, and the late Dorothy Mitchell, and the late “Mose” and “Red” Arnett.

Parents of the bridegroom are Scott and Linda Myers, San Antonio, Texas, and Dale Leinen, Oklahoma City.  He is the grandson of Mary Ayers, Carrizo Springs, Texas, and the late O.D. Ayers, and the late Bud and Florene Leinen.

The bride was given in marriage by her father on behalf of both parents. Matron of honor was Amy Lowry Dougherty, Dallas, and maid of honor was Lindsey Hennan, Dallas.  Best man was Gavin Butcher, Oklahoma City.

The bride wore a floor-length ivory chiffon split-front, A-line gown with a sweep train and beaded sweetheart neckline and empire waist.  She wore an elegant ivory one-tiered, waist-length veil with scalloped edge topped with a comb embellished with Swarovski Crystals and freshwater pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses wrapped with turquoise ribbon. The bridegroom wore a khaki linen suit with white linen shirt and white rose boutonniere.

Decorations for the wedding ceremony were simple:  a hoopa on the beach, wrapped in flowing white chiffon fabric, with the ocean in the background. The wedding reception took place at the resort, at an outdoor terrace surrounded by palm trees.  The tables were decorated with white table cloths and white linens.  Centerpieces were tall glass hurricanes with white pillar candles surrounded by sand and seashells.  The centerpieces were surrounded by starfish laid out on the tables.  The wedding cake was single tier vanilla with strawberry filling.  It was decorated with white icing, turquoise ribbon, and topped with a beach bride and groom figurine.

After spending their honeymoon in Mexico, the couple is at home in Dallas, Texas.
