Lawmen among three killed in chase

Dill City — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two law officers and a suspect have died during a pursuit in western Oklahoma.

Trooper Brian Orr says the Washita County undersheriff was attempting to serve a warrant to a suspect in Sentinel around 9:40 a.m. Thursday when the suspect fled by car.

Investigators believe the suspect crashed about 30 minutes later near Dill City — about 110 miles west of Oklahoma City — and died. A short time later, the undersheriff and a Burns Flat police officer collided, and both were killed in that crash.

The names of the officers and suspect have not been released.

Orr says he does not know how the Burns Flat officer became involved. He says the sheriff’s office and police department are both small.
