State takes custody of 6 kids after slaying

Tulsa — The Department of Human Services has removed six children from a Tulsa home they had been staying at after the shooting of four people at their grandparents’ home over the weekend.

The Tulsa World reports (http://bit.ly/IsCff2) that the children had been staying with their grandparents when four people were shot to death and a fifth seriously wounded Saturday.

Sgt. Dave Walker says the children’s mother took custody of the kids after the shooting and placed them at another a neighbor’s home nearby, but the home didn’t have gas or running water.
