Oklahoma City — The White House will recognize Oklahoma next week for its effort in college remediation education.

Oklahoma’s Complete College America program will be recognized at the White House on Dec. 11. Business Roundtable, an association of CEOs of leading U.S. companies, has also applauded the program, according to a story published Thursday in The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1f0uvN4).

Complete College America is a national nonprofit that works to increase the number of Americans with career certificates or college degrees. Oklahoma joined in 2011.

Tony Hutchison, vice chancellor for workforce and economic development for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, said that for the past two years, appropriations have been allocated based on performance factors.
