NOTEWORTHY: The only run of the game occurred in the fourth inning as Asher edged Konawa, 1-0, on Saturday in the New Lima Tournament. Asher hurler Tarin Dubler barely out-dueled Konawa’s Tarah Madron. Dubler allowed just two hits and struck out three in the win and Madron surrendered only three hits and struck out three as well in the loss. Renee Rutherford and Jennifer Tooley each slapped a single for the Lady Tigers’ only hits. Dubler went 2-for-3 from the plate for the Lady Indians.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We made a couple of mistakes defensively in the fourth that cost us a run. Then in the fifth inning, we made a base-running mistake that cost us a run. Those were costly in such a tight game,” — Konawa head coach Doug Isaacs.
