Paoli — Dalton James ran for 302 yards on just 22 carries and scored five touchdowns as the Allen Mustangs routed host Paoli, 62-14, last Friday night in a District B-2 football contest, which ended with 1:27 remaining in the third quarter on the mercy rule.
James had TD runs of 64, 17, 3, 50 and 18 yards for Allen, which improved to 6-3 on the season and 6-2 in the district. James also ran in a pair of two-point conversions and caught one pass for 26 yards.
“We played really well and (Aaron) Manuel stepped in and played fullback for us and did a good job,” said Allen Head Coach Kenny Deaton.
Colten Browning added 36 yards on just five carries and a 10-yard TD run for the Mustangs. Manuel carried the ball just twice, but scored off a 3-yard run and Dakota Nickell ended up with seven yards off a pair of carries and a 1-yard scoring plunge to end the game.
Allen also received a 53-yard kickoff return for a score by Tommy Peay.
The Mustangs rolled up 389 yards of total offense while limiting the hosts to 207.
Justin Deaton was 4-of-10 passing for 53 yards and Nickell caught two of those throws for 27 yards.
Defensively for Allen, Ty Brown registered four tackles, intercepted two passes and had a fumble recovery. Gunner Holder also intercepted a pass for the winners and Browning ended up with two fumble recoveries.
The Mustangs host fifth-ranked Fox to close out the regular season on Friday.
“Playing a ranked opponent like Fox is an opportunity to get us ready for the playoffs,” Kenny Deaton said.
