NOTEWORTHY: Byng rallied from a 13-7 deficit but fell two runs short in dropping a 13-11 decision to Dale Saturday in the battle of the Pirates in the finals of the McLoud Tournament. Dale had an 11-8 advantage in total hits and registered a big seven-run fourth inning in capturing the win. Andre Davis and Joe Nemecek were the only multi-hitters for Byng, as Davis went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored while Nemecek finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Hunter Capps homered for Byng and finished with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Whitey Fortner also knocked in a run and scored once in a 1-for-2 effort. The two teams combined for eight errors – five by Byng and three by Dale.

NOTEWORTHY: Dalton Reed and Andy Antonio each homered and Mike Anderson pitched a six-inning, five-hit shutout as Roff shut out Caney, 9-0, Saturday in the Rattan Tournament. Anderson gave up just one walk and struck out six in raising his record to 3-0. C.J. Johnson led the Tigers’ 16-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Teammate Rayce Stephens was 2-for-3 with three runs batted in, and Antonio went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
