NOTEWORTHY: Caleb Watson tossed a four-hit shutout and Corby Ake drove in what proved to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth as Tupelo outlasted Colbert, 1-0, on Monday. Watson allowed just two walks and struck out two in earning the pitching victory. Ake went 2-for-3 from the plate with the heroic RBI, which scored Corey McCollum. Watson also was 2-for-3 from the plate, and McCollum was 1-for-3 with the game-winning score. McCollum led off the sixth with a single, advanced to second off an error and ultimately scored off Ake’s single for the only run of the contest.

NOTEWORTHY: Hunter Larsh collected three hits and Dalton Reed allowed just one earned run off one hit through four innings as Roff downed Allen, 9-1, in a five-inning contest on Monday. Larsh went 3-for-3 from the plate with a triple, double, one run batted in and three runs scored. Teammate Andy Antonio was 2-for-2 with a triple and three runs scored, and Reed went 2-for-3, drove home two runs and scored once. From the mound, Reed (1-2) gave up three walks and struck out seven. Mike Anderson pitched the fifth and final frame. The Tigers tallied two runs in the first, added four more scores in the third, scored twice in the fourth and picked up a single run in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the run rule. Allen picked up its only score in the top of the fifth.

Record: Roff is 6-2.
