NOTEWORTHY: Jake Taylor’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Shawnee Wolves to a narrow 5-4 win over Ada Tuesday evening. The Cougars had scored a run in the top of the seven to tie the game at 4-4 after Walker Whitworth singled and later scored on a two-out RBI hit by Garrett Beam. Taylor had blasted a two-run homer earlier in the game and finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Shawnee. Josh Rolette led the Wolves with a 3-for-4 outing. Dalton Wolf finished 2-for-4 with a double to pace Ada at the plate. Micah Simmer absorbed the hard-luck loss for the Cougars. He struck out six and didn’t walk a batter in the complete-game outing. Shawnee starter Eli Davis and reliever Josh Rolette combined for 11 strikeouts.

Team Record: Ada 2-1; Shawnee 5-0.
