NOTEWORTHY: A seven-run sixth inning lifted Sulphur to a 9-4 victory over Roff on Tuesday. Kaylea Riley, Lauren Trimmer and Breecia Crawford each collected two hits for the Lady Tigers in a losing cause. The trio also had a double apiece. Riley knocked in a run and Crawford scored once. Kendall Sanford drove home two runs in a 1-for-4 effort.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We didn’t play too badly. We just left a lot of runners in scoring position. Sulphur has a good club. They came up with a string of big hits in the sixth. That was the difference in the game,” — Roff head coach Blake Crawford.

Record: Roff is 1-1; Sulphur 1-1.

NOTEWORTHY: Vanoss managed just a single run against Stratford pitcher Morgan Tice in a loss to the Lady Bulldogs at the Red, White and Blue Tournament Tuesday in Wanette. Randa Hatter swung a big stick for Stratford, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs. Tayler Oats was also 2-for-3 with a triple for the winners.
