NOTEWORTHY: The Lady Panthers — ranked No. 7 in Class 4A — received two hits apiece from Jordyn Scott, Anna Wood and Sydney Brinlee in hammering Moss in just four innings. Scott and Carlee Henderson also tripled for Latta, which finished with 10 hits. Brianna Hanson limited Moss to seven hits and scoreless in the final three innings.

Team Records: Latta is 5-5; Moss 2-10.

NOTEWORTHY: BreAnn Gipson hit a three-run homer and was 2-for-3 from the plate with four runs batted in as Stonewall (No. 4 in Class 2A) ripped Mill Creek in four innings. Danielle Clarke went 2-for-2 with a double, scored once and knocked in three runs while Kim Helms went 2-for-2 with a triple and scored three times. Jordan Pharr allowed only seven hits. Lisa Garland and Lyndsay Tyson each went 2-for-2 from the plate for Mill Creek. Garland drove in both of her team’s runs in the third inning.

Record: Stonewall is 7-0


At Kiowa

NOTEWORTHY: Courtney Hickman went 2-for-3 from the plate with a double and drove in a pair of runs, but it wasn’t enough as Tupelo (No. 2 in Class A) dropped just its second game of the season. Kiowa out-hit the Lady Tigers, 12-7.

  • Play at the plate Seminole slips by Ada on Senior Night

    While a questionable call or two certainly didn’t dictate the outcome of Ada’s 10-7 loss to Seminole on Senior Night Tuesday at Cougar Field, one could make a valid argument that it certainly changed the momentum of the game.

  • Cougs continue to win Ada stretches win streak to seven

    Gabe Simons jump-started the Ada offense with his three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second before the Cougars pushed across six more runs in the bottom of the fourth, sending Sulphur packing 9-1 Thursday evening at Cougar Field.

  • Whitworth resets Ada's 3-point record

    As senior Walker Whitworth was bombing in the final five 3-point shots of his remarkable Ada High career, he was resetting the school’s triples record at 151. Across the way at the A-Town Barber Shop, barber Erick Gray did not even know he owned the record of 146, much less that someone was breaking it.
