Oklahoma City —
Jonathan Gray was just as nasty for the Oklahoma Sooners during the first game of the weather-delayed Big 12 Conference Tournament as he was back in the day as the ace of the Ada Braves American Legion baseball squad.
Gray tossed a complete-game, shutout during OU's 2-0 victory Thursday afternoon at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
OU versus Baylor was the first game played, but it didn't get started until 12:30 p.m. — three and a half hours later than its originally scheduled 9 a.m. first-pitch time, due to heavy rains that flooded the metro area during the morning hours.
Gray — who is expected to be taken No. 1 on No. 2 at next month's Major League Baseball amateur draft — struck out 10 and scattered just three hits to earn his ninth win of the season against just two losses.
