Ada Cougars prepare for challenges

Just about the only thing left to prepare for the intrasquad scrimmage that will end the Ada Cougars’ spring ball is the where.

As news of tornados ripping through the Oklahoma City area reached Ada’s practice Monday, head coach Matt Weber laid out plans for ‘in case of rain’ scenarios for the 3 p.m. Tuesday scrimmage.

“We’ll plan to go outside, but have contingency plans to go inside The Dunham,” he said of the huge indoor facility.

Coaches are not unlike gamblers; both keep their cards close to their vest, especially the face cards — ace, king, queen, jack and Prince

The ‘Prince’ that Weber is sheltering is junior quarterback Tryce Prince. Though he is said to have made a miraculous recovery from a devastating knee injury in basketball season, Weber is taking no chances and Prince will see no action in the scrimmage.
