Drumgo helps West to boys win

Stonewall —

Vanoss’ Chris Drumgo drilled four 3-pointers, finished with 14 points and garnered Most Valuable Player honors in leading the West to a 66-62 victory over the East Wednesday night in the 40th annual Ada News All-Star Classic at Stonewall High School’s Murphy-Roberts Gymnasium.

Drumgo, who was 5-of-7 from the floor, nailed a critical trey to force a 56-all deadlock with 3:30 to go, while the Stratford tandem of Trey Helm and Chris Kozak each sank two free shots in the final 24 seconds to help the West win by a four-point margin.

The East’s Conner Johnson, of Allen, forced a 62-all tie by canning a 3-point jumper before the West used the charity stripe as its friend in the waning seconds.

Cody Robinson, of Moss, poured in a game-high 17 points for the East, nailing five 3-pointers in 6-of-11 shooting effort for the game. Robinson also snatched seven rebounds, which was second-high on the squad. He was the only double-figure scorer for the East, though Ada’s Easton Pingleton was close with nine points to go with five boards and three steals. Tupelo’s Chat Henry chipped in eight points and corralled six rebounds.
