Saturday, Aug. 24

Konawa 10, Ringling 9

(Inning-by-inning scores not available)

Mayhaylle Larney and Brittany Lancaster; Stoker and Murray. WP – Larney (1-0). LP – Stoker. HL – Shelby Campbell 1-2, BB; Taylor Jackson 1-3, 2 RBIs, 1 RS; Dominique Lyon 1-3, 1 RS, 1 SB; Danielle Khoury 1 RBI, 2 RS; Lancaster, 2 RS; Larney 1 RS; Hisaw 2 RBIs, 1 SB; Rutherford 1 RBI (K). Tolliver 3-4; Murray 2-4; McGagahey 1-3; Butler, 1-4 (R).

NOTEWORTHY: In a game plagued by 10 errors (six by Konawa and four by Ringling), the Lady Tigers survived for a 10-9 win to wrap up play with a perfect 3-0 mark in the Tuttle Festival.

COACH’S QUOTE: “This was a great win for us in many respects. We played back-to-back games in the heat, had four starters out with minor injuries and was still able to beat a quality team. Mahaylee Larney pitched a good game and we made enough plays to get the win, but overall our defense should have been much better. We did produce a good amount of offense and found ways to manufacture runs against a pretty hard-throwing pitcher,” — Konawa head coach Doug Isaacs.

Record: Konawa is 7-4.
