Tigers hold on for 24-21 victory at Southwestern

Weatherford —

SWOSU then marched down the field and were at the five yard line when senior Alex King forced the fourth fumble of the game. Sophomore Cole Weber recovered and a few plays later Bond connected with senior LaQuan Harper for a 79-yard TD pass to put ECU up 24-13 with 11:09 left in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs scored with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter and converted on the two-point try to get within three, 24-21.

SWOSU then attempted an on-side kick, but the Tigers recovered at the 42-yard line with 1:18 left on the clock. ECU kept possession for the remainder of the game for the 24-21 win.

Despite the winning score, the Bulldogs out-played the Tigers in offensive yards (459-382).

But ECU took advantage of the six turnovers (four fumbles and two interceptions) by SWOSU, while only giving up one fumble of their own during the game.

The Tigers will return home for the final game of the season at Norris Field, Saturday, Nov. 2 when they host Arkansas Tech at 2 p.m.
