Passing game lifts Allen to win over OCA


Allen — Holdenville hammers Coalgate, 46-8

     HOLDENVILLE – Ignited by two 100-plus yard rushers, the Holdenville Wolverines scored 26 first-quarter points and rolled to a 46-8 victory over the Coalgate Wildcats Friday night.

     Quarterback D’Angelo Moore ran for 156 yards on 16 carries and scored once off a 25-yard run and Justin Scott netted 134 yards on 17 attempts and scored twice on runs of 3 and 73 yards for Holdenville.

     Cody Carpitcher added two touchdowns for the Wolverines, one off a 61-yard punt return and the other off a 19-yard toss from Moore, who was 3-of-5 passing for 43 yards with the one TD and one interception.

     Bobby Rivera also had a 22-yard scoring run for Holdenville as he finished with 47 yards on nine carries.Coalgate, which fell to 1-2 on the season, didn’t get on the board until the third quarter off a Colby Jones 44-yard run and Ricco Belletini’s 2-point conversion run.

     Holdenville scored its other 20 points in the third quarter.

     Jones was 6-of-21 passing for 70 yards and was intercepted three times and ran for 73 yards on six carries with the TD. Belletini led Coalgate in the rushing department with 77 yards on 11 attempts.

     Dakota Powell was the Wildcats’ top receiver with 47 yards on three receptions.

     Coalgate hosts Savanna Friday night. Holdenville plays at Hugo on Friday.
