Tupelo, Konawa both perfect at Hall of Fame

Oklahoma City —

The Class A third-ranked Tupelo Lady Tigers, in a tune-up for the upcoming regional playoffs, posted a perfect 4-0 record in the Hall of Fame Spring Classic this past weekend at the ASA Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.

Tupelo allowed just two runs in the entire event and registered three shutouts in improving to 23-5 on the season.

The Lady Tigers opened play by surrendering their only two scores in a 6-2 win over Wilson on Friday. Tupelo then blanked Geronimo, 9-0, in another Friday contest. On Saturday, the Lady Tigers shut out Crowder, 8-0, and Checotah, 2-0.

Against Wilson, Courtney Hickman, Keara Bourland and Amber Cosar each went 2-for-3 from the plate. Cosar scored a run and Kurston Chamberlain had the only triple of the tournament for Tupelo. Brittany Sanders allowed only five hits. Tupelo finished with 12 hits.

In the game against Geronimo, Brittany Sanders scattered four hits and helped her own cause by going 3-for-3 from the plate with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Bourland had a 2-for-2 performance with two RBIs and a run scored while Kristyn Parker, Kate McCoy and Kayley Sanders each went 2-for-3. Parker knocked in a run and scored twice while McCoy and Kayley Sanders each scored once. The Lady Tigers ended up with nine hits.
