“It was a good win. Sulphur has a good team. We played like I kind of expected. We played well together,” said Latta head coach David Tinkler. “We found the open man. It was really a great team effort. To hold a Sulphur team to 26 points is a good effort. We had a couple of players (Young and Edens) step up and had what I think we career highs.”
The Lady Panthers, who hit 19-of-39 field goal tries in the game, jumped out to a 12-2 advantage after one quarter and went on to a 23-13 halftime lead. It was 39-26 after three quarters and Latta held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless in the fourth while tallying 10 points.
Reilly Williams and Bailee Eldred paced Sulphur with nine points each.
Latta plays at Class 3A and unbeaten Washington on Tuesday night to close out the 2013-14 regular season.
