The Lady Mustangs, 14-8 on the season, advance to play Boswell on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Quinton for a regional winners’ bracket clash. Roff will play at 1:30 p.m. in Quinton in an elimination game.

 

Asher rolls past Cement in Class B

 

ASHER — All 10 Asher players got into the scoring column as the Class B 14th-ranked Lady Indians hammered Cement, 66-18, to capture a district championship on Saturday.

Shelby Fleming had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to spark Asher to a 21-5 record on the season.

Joining Fleming in double figures were Tarin Dubler with 13, Tristan Milburn with 11 and Haley Odell with 10. Dubler nailed two 3-pointers and recorded seven steals for the Lady Indians. Milburn also had a double-double as she dished out 10 assists and knocked down a game-leading three treys.

“It was a good night. All 10 players on the roster scored,” said Asher head coach Tari Dubler. “We’re looking forward to the regional tournament next week.”

The Lady Indians flourished early with a 22-2 run through the first quarter and a 42-4 halftime advantage. Asher then coasted in the second half, outscoring Cement, 16-7, in the third period and 8-7 in the fourth.

Asher advances to the Class B regionals in the winnersí bracket by facing the Springer-Temple winner on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Marlow.

 

Latta Lady Panthers sink Sulphur

 

SULPHUR — Krisha Young and Laramie Edens produced big offensive games as the Class 2A ninth-ranked Latta Lady Panthers crushed host Sulphur, 49-26, on Saturday.

Young led the way with 17 points, including four 3-point jumpers, and Edens followed with 16 points and snatched four rebounds. Shelbey Parnacher and Sydney Brinlee chipped in six points apiece. Parnacher had one trey and grabbed six boards and Brinlee ended up with four rebounds.

Taryn Wood dished out five assists to go with her two points and Maria Priest finished with two points and recorded four steals.
