NOTEWORTHY: Sophomore left-hander C.J. Johnson fired a five-inning, three-hit shutout, and Dalton Reed smacked a pair of homers as Roff blanked Antlers, 10-0, Friday afternoon in the Rattan Spring Classic at Antlers High School. Johnson (2-0) gave up just one walk and struck out seven. Reed went 2-for-2 from the plate with four runs batted in off a pair of two-run homers. Villafranco was 2-for-3 with one RBI and a run scored, and Johnson also doubled once.

NOTEWORTHY: Dalton Reed and Hunter Larsh homered while Andy Antonio compiled three hits as Red Oak outlasted Tupelo, 7-5, on Friday night in the Rattan Spring Classic. Antonio went 3-for-4 from the plate with a double. Tiger starter Hunter Larsh was charged with the loss. Mike Anderson and Dalton Reed provided relief help. Trailing 5-3 after five innings, Red Oak tallied four runs in the top of the sixth.

Team Record: Roff is 9-3

NOTEWORTHY: Reid Wall homered while Andre Davis and Joe Nemecek collected two hits apiece as Byng belted the Edmond Memorial JV, 13-4, on Friday. Reid Wall hit a two-run homer, finished with three runs batted in and scored once. Davis went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and a pair of runs scored. Nemecek was 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI as the Pirates compiled eight hits. Pirate starting pitcher Gage Wall was the winning pitcher. He gave up just two earned runs off two hits, walked five and struck out four. Hunter Capps came on in relief and allowed no walks and struck out three in working the final two innings. Byng broke open a fairly close 7-4 advantage with a six-run sixth inning.

NOTEWORTHY: Reid Wall got the pitching win and Gage Wall knocked in a pair of runs as Byng topped McLoud, 6-2, on Friday. Wall worked the first 4 2/3 innings and allowed both earned runs off five hits with four walks and seven strikeouts. Hunter Capps came entered in relief and surrendered only one hit and one while striking out two. Gage Wall was 1-for-3 with the two RBIs and a run scored. Teammate Joe Nemecek went 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI. Also for Byng, Whitey Fortner was 1-for-2 and scored two runs. Capps also went 1-for-3. The Pirates trailed 1-0 before scoring two runs in the fourth, tallying four more in the fifth and picking up two more scores in the sixth. McLoud held a 6-4 edge in total hits.

Team Record: Byng 10-1.

NOTEWORTHY: Tristen Hogue’s one-out sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh lifted Tupelo to a 7-6 win over Coleman on Friday in the Sulphur Tournament. Corey McCollum and Tyler Daffern each went 2-for-4 from the plate and drove in a run. McCollum scored three runs, and Daffern crossed the plate once. Chisum Henry (1-for-3) and Jordan Thunder Bull (1-for-3) knocked in a run apiece. Henry’s hit was a double. McCollum pitched all seven innings as five of the six runs were earned. He walked five and struck out six while allowing eight hits. The Tigers also finished with eight hits.

NOTEWORTHY: Sulphur rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh and took advantage of nine Roff errors as the Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Tigers, 8-7, on Friday in the Beast of the East Tournament at Stonewall High School. Jadyn Ramer went 2-for-4 with a triple and three runs batted in for Sulphur while Hali Gilbert also tripled and knocked in a run. Lauren Trimmer and Kendall Sanford each went 2-for-3 from the plate for Roff. Trimmer doubled once, drove home three runs and scored twice. Sanford doubled once and picked up two RBIs.
