NOTEWORTHY: Tanner Dees went 3-for-4 from the plate with two triples, two runs batted in and a run scored as the Longhorns run-ruled the Tigers in five innings. Also for Stonewall, Marcus Sandy was 2-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI and a pair of runs scored. C.J. Logan (1-for-2 with a run scored) and Tyler Campise (1-for-3) each knocked in two runs for the winners. Gage Burns also went 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Longhorns. Frazier went 2-for-2 with a run scored for Konawa.

Team Record: Stonewall is 12-10.

Up Next: Stonewall hosts Class B district, beginning Thursday. Mill Creek vs. Kiowa at 3 p.m. Stonewall vs. Mill Creek-Kiowa loser at 5 p.m. Stonewall vs. Mill Creek-Kiowa winner at 7 p.m.

NOTEWORTHY: Tyler Pierce pitched six strong innings and drove in two runs as Class 4A seventh-ranked Byng edged 4A 12th-ranked Tecumseh, 4-2, on Monday. Pierce allowed just one earned run off five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts before giving way to Shawn Treat, who pitched the seventh. Treat allowed one earned run off two hits in getting the save. Offensively, he was 1-for-2 from the plate in knocking in the two runs. Reid Wall went 2-for-3 from the plate with one RBI and a run scored. Andre Davis also picked up one hit and Hunter Capps brought home a run off a sacrifice fly.

  • Play at the plate Seminole slips by Ada on Senior Night

    While a questionable call or two certainly didn’t dictate the outcome of Ada’s 10-7 loss to Seminole on Senior Night Tuesday at Cougar Field, one could make a valid argument that it certainly changed the momentum of the game.

  • Cougs continue to win Ada stretches win streak to seven

    Gabe Simons jump-started the Ada offense with his three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second before the Cougars pushed across six more runs in the bottom of the fourth, sending Sulphur packing 9-1 Thursday evening at Cougar Field.

    As senior Walker Whitworth was bombing in the final five 3-point shots of his remarkable Ada High career, he was resetting the school’s triples record at 151. Across the way at the A-Town Barber Shop, barber Erick Gray did not even know he owned the record of 146, much less that someone was breaking it.
