ECU soccer adds eight to roster

Ada —

East Central University head soccer coach Riley Bailey has announced the addition of eight student-athletes for the 2013 season.  The group is comprised of six freshmen and two juniors: three forwards, three defenders and two goaltenders.

2013 soccer additions

Lexie DeVore       Fr.        F       Frisco, Texas

Elizabeth Dodd    Fr.        D       Mcloud, Okla.

Adrian Fairchild    Jr.        F       Cheney, Kan.

Milan Galloway     Jr.        F       Rialto, Calif.

Kylee Harper     Fr.        D       Bartonville, Texas

Brooke Hazard     Fr.        D       Burbank, Calif.

Lexi Hurley          Fr.        G       Mesquite, Texas

Breeana Jewell     Fr.        G       Harrah, Okla.

DeVore has spent the last two seasons on the Wakeland High School varsity team, which claimed the 2010 Texas 4A State Championship and went 46-3-5 in her two years on the team.  In 2011, she was named to the all-district first team and was an honorable mention in 2010.  Before moving up to the varsity team, DeVore spent one season as a member of the undefeated (13-0-1) junior varsity team for the Wolverines.

“Lexie is one of those tenacious players that don’t have an off switch,” said Bailey.  “She can play several places, and I think she’ll add a much-needed scoring threat for us up top.”

Dodd was a defender at Dale High School in Mcloud.  She was also a member of the South Lake Cosmos Club Team that is ranked No. 5 in Oklahoma and No. 117 in the nation.

“Izzy is coming off an injury, so we’ll see how things develop for her,” Bailey said.  “But she’s a quality young lady, has a great attitude and has all the tools to be very successful.”

Fairchild is a transfer from Independence Community College in Kansas where she has played for the past two seasons.  She was named the team MVP and was the team’s leading scorer in her sophomore season.

“Adrian will have the ability to fill several positions for us,” added Bailey.  “She can be utilized up top or in the middle.  I like her attitude and effort and think she’ll help solidify us as a team.”
