After 27 years as the Konawa High School girls track and field coach, Don Gallagher has decided to step aside to focus on his part-time teaching and advising duties.
“It’s been a very enjoyable 27 years. We’ve had great kids … top-notch kids. It’s been invigorating for me, but it’s time to step back and loosen the load,” said Gallagher, who also served as Konawa’s cross-country coach for 20 years.
Gallagher plans to continue teaching physics and serve as yearbook advisor at Konawa.
