NOTEWORTHY: The host Dale Lady Pirates — ranked No. 1 in Class 4A — jumped out to an early 6-1 lead and cruised past another set of Lady Pirates from Byng. Dale star Jaelin Flewallen homered in a 2-for-3 outing for Dale, while Danielle Docker finished 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the 15-hit DHS attack. Sydney Fuller and Ragyn Geiger both had doubles in 2-for-3 showings for Byng (N0. 9 in Class 5A), who managed nine total hits in the contest. It was the first loss of the season for coach Andi Grissom's Byng team.

Team Records: Byng 5-1; Dale 9-3.

NOTEWORTHY: Jordyn Scott hit a three-run homer and three other Lady Panthers had two hits each as well in Latta’s run-rule victory in five innings. Carlee Henderson went 2-for-2, drove in two runs and scored once. Scott was 2-for-3 with the three RBIs off the homer. Autumn Balch and Katie Miller were each 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Panthers. Lauren Trimmer went 2-for-2 from the plate for Roff (No. 5 in Class 2A). Brianna Hanson allowed just six hits for the pitching win.

  • Play at the plate Seminole slips by Ada on Senior Night

    While a questionable call or two certainly didn’t dictate the outcome of Ada’s 10-7 loss to Seminole on Senior Night Tuesday at Cougar Field, one could make a valid argument that it certainly changed the momentum of the game.

  • Cougs continue to win Ada stretches win streak to seven

    Gabe Simons jump-started the Ada offense with his three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second before the Cougars pushed across six more runs in the bottom of the fourth, sending Sulphur packing 9-1 Thursday evening at Cougar Field.

    As senior Walker Whitworth was bombing in the final five 3-point shots of his remarkable Ada High career, he was resetting the school’s triples record at 151. Across the way at the A-Town Barber Shop, barber Erick Gray did not even know he owned the record of 146, much less that someone was breaking it.
