Shawnee turns back troublesome Tish

Ada —

“(Tishomingo) came out with a great game plan,” Wells said. “With such young kids and such small kids, we were afraid to attack early on. We told them to just keep attacking and keep going at them and good things and good things were going to happen.”

Simmons hit 7-of-11 field goals and scored 16 points to lead the Shawnee offense while Cooper, Shaiann Tramble and Maytubby (off the bench) added nine points each. Simmons also had eight rebounds and four steals.

Tish (2-2) got 12 points by Justus, but she only scored two points (on a pair of free throws) in the second half. Post player Carolyne Lawley followed with eight points and six rebounds.

Shawnee forced 20 Tishomingo turnovers.

The Lady Wolves will meet Cheyenne in tonight's 6:30 p.m. semifinal matchup while Tishomingo battles area rival Latta in consolation play at 4:30 p.m.
