NOTEWORTHY: Dalton Reed blasted two homers as the Roff Tigers ripped Rock Creek, 14-5, in five innings in the Red Oak Festival on Saturday. Reed went 2-for-4 from the plate and finished with five runs batted in and two runs scored. He hit a three-run homer and two-run shot. Teammate Zach Lewis was 2-for-3 with one RBI and a run scored. C.J. Johnson (4-1) got the pitching win as he scattered seven hits, Johnson also had a double in the game. Roff scored three runs in the first inning and racked up 11 in the second.

NOTEWORTHY: Roff (No. 4 in Class A) was held scoreless through six innings as host Red Oak (No. 1 in Class B) rolled to a 6-1 decision over the Tigers on Saturday in the Red Oak Festival. C.J. Johnson had Roff’s only hit. Red Oak finished with seven hits as it scored twice each in the first, fifth and sixth innings. Tiger starter Mike Anderson (1-3) was tagged with the loss. Dalton Reed pitched the sixth and seventh innings.

Team Records: Roff 16-7; Red Oak 17-3.

    Gabe Simons jump-started the Ada offense with his three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second before the Cougars pushed across six more runs in the bottom of the fourth, sending Sulphur packing 9-1 Thursday evening at Cougar Field.

    As senior Walker Whitworth was bombing in the final five 3-point shots of his remarkable Ada High career, he was resetting the school’s triples record at 151. Across the way at the A-Town Barber Shop, barber Erick Gray did not even know he owned the record of 146, much less that someone was breaking it.
